Superior Huntingdon Composites Invests US$4.4 Million to Restart Third Production Line in Pennsylvania
Superior Huntingdon Composites invests US$4.4 million (€3.95 million) in US expansion
Superior Huntingdon Composites announced a US$4.4 million investment to expand its Huntingdon, Pennsylvania facility, restarting a third production line inactive since 2012. The project, supported by a US$200,000 grant and a US$1.69 million loan from Pennsylvania's Department of Community and Economic Development, will create 26 new jobs while retaining 74 existing positions. The company specializes in continuous filament mats and veils for composites used in defence, energy, construction, transportation, infrastructure, and marine industries.
Restarting an idle glass fibre line requires careful scheduling of raw material deliveries and workforce retraining; the US$4.4 million investment must be weighed against current supply chain lead times for continuous filament mats and veils.
