Conductive Polymer Films Target Thermal Management in EVs and Electronics

How Conductive Polymers Are Rewriting Thermal Design

Executive Overview

SABIC and Celanese are advancing thermally conductive polymer grades, such as LNP Konduit and CoolPoly, to replace metals in automotive and electronics heat management. These materials reduce weight and enable complex shapes, but high filler loadings of boron nitride, graphite, and alumina increase melt viscosity and processing difficulty. Supply chain costs and ASTM D5470 testing standards remain key barriers to widespread adoption.
