Corplex Launches Closed-Loop De-Inking Process for Correx Polypropylene Signage
New de-inking method closes the loop on Correx signage
Corplex has introduced a mechanical de-inking method that prints directly onto mono-material Correx boards, eliminating glued vinyl and enabling closed-loop recycling. The process restores 70% of recycled material into new boards, up from 20% previously, and extends board reuse to more than ten cycles. Independent certification from Carbon Quota confirms an 80% carbon footprint reduction, saving over 3,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Closed-loop mechanical de-inking of printed Correx boards raises recycled content to 70% and extends board reuse beyond ten cycles, directly reducing virgin polypropylene purchasing and landfill disposal costs. Plant managers should validate ink-removal wash-line throughput and flake purity against existing extrusion lines before scaling collection logistics.
